The audio/video capture driver is not open source.  They don't support a 
modern server codec that's free.

Opening the AV driver, writing vorbis/speex encoder plugins.

I don't know, I'm really not up on all the various options out there.  I was 
paid to work with Helix, and so that's what I know.

But this is beside the point.  Even if there was a very good alternative 
library/SDK to use, the other problem is I don't have time to do this task as 
a hobby.
