It seems unlikely that it's a jabberd2 issue since the client is 
basically just communicating with the component. Are you sure the client 
is talking to the pubsub component and not sm?

But if you think it is, please submit an issue to j2's bugzilla at 
http://j2.openaether.org/bugzilla/ with some sample XML conversations 
and/or debug logs and details on how to reproduce the problem 
(preferably on 2.0s7 rather than 2.0s6).
