Hey all,
We're happy to announce that Jive Messenger is becoming Open Source
under the GPL license. Jive Messenger is a Java-based XMPP server
featuring great performance and scalability, a web-based admin, and
simple installation. It will take several weeks to prepare the Open
Source release, so in the meantime we're making Jive Messenger 1.1
available as a free binary. More information and downloads at
http://www.jivesoftware.org
The Jive Messenger 1.1 release is a new one and includes many great new
features such as support for MUC, service discovery, data forms, LDAP,
and running the server as a service on Windows. Jive Messenger uses a
database back-end with support for most major databases.

Our Open Source XMPP client library, Smack
(http://www.jivesoftware.com/xmpp/smack), has been out for over a year
now, so we hope an Open Source server is a nice compliment to that
project. :)
Regards,
Matt
