There are basically two matters at hand:
  1) Promoting Jabber as an IM network to Grandma.
  2) Promoting Jabber as an all-purpose networking platform.

Combining both of these into one website is impossible, and I think jabber.org 
already does a fine job at #2.  Therefore, the solution to #1 is to build a 
second, separately marketed, website.  No need to hack jabber.org to bits.
