Which Jabber API do you speak of?  And which language are you planning to 
write your client in?  There are often several APIs for any given programming 
language, and they will vary in the specific solutions they are good at 
solving (e.g. in the case of Java, Smack makes a really nice client library, 
whereas I've found JSO to be better for components... so far, at least. :-))
