 I guess you are using Net::Jabber 2.0 ...
 while smst.pl was written on 1.3 or sthg about.

 There are some differencies between those versions that it will not work.

 I was playing around last night with some newer sms transport and I had to
 rewrite it to get it working on Net:Jabber 2.0 module...
