[jdev] messages out of order?

I'm running a stock jabberd-1.4.3 server.  I've noticed that when I send
3 or more messages rapidly back to back (from an automated client) the
messages arrive consistently out of order.  If I send

  message0
  message1
  message2

I receive

  message0
  message2
  message1

I've confirmed this behavior against multiple independent client
implementations.  I suspect (without any real evidence) that this might
have something to do with the addition of threading to 1.4.3.

Has anyone else seen similar behavior?
