Is Jabber Beans still maintained?  I know it was stalled for quite 
sometime, then I heard rumblings of it getting activity again.

Smack seems to be library of choice these days, works very nicely that I've 
seen, well supported.  Not sure if it supports the file transfer JEPs thou 
( one may need to write it themselves ).

Of course, I've not looked at either library in ages, so could be totally 
wrong.
