I got ahead of myself in editing that post, and realized this showed up 
a little out of context.  XHTML-IM makes a great example of why a 
certification program could give benefits to us; if it were a 
requirement for one of the certification levels, then people would have 
to not only implement it (and thus increase the overall featureful-ness 
of Jabber clients), but would have to implement it in a way that was 
found to be standards compliant by the certification board. :)
