[JDEV] JID naming

Hello. Just looked through document
http://www.jabber.org/ietf/draft-saintandre-xmpp-uri-00.html

This document specifies URI as xmpp:jid[/resource]

So I have a question: is resource is a part of jid or not.
I ask this because of xmpppy library that I am writing.

What name the function that returns JID w resource must have?
And what name the function that returns JID w/o resource must have?
