You're referring to the stream:error tag the applet does not understand?
That's true but the error tag should not show up at all in the first place
;-).

I'd advise comparing the XML of the applet with the XML of Kopete (don't
know whether Kopete features a XML console, use Ethereal if that's not the
case).
