Beware of P800! I am developing apps on P800 and the Java support is pitiful
at this time. No camera, no SMS, no BIO, no MMS, no Bluetooth. Basically
games only, and "game over, man" if you want to do much else. It is,
basically, stripped down MIDP 1.0 and some ruins of PersonalJava loitering
around.

There is talk of MIDP 2.0 in SE which supports the JSR82, 120, 135 etc for
such things but for now most features are only via Symbian C++ (ghastly!)
and then half the time it is only 1/4 there on P800. There is no indication
that a P800 upgrade of UIQ 2.0s/MDIP 2.0 will be available. Cynics talk of
this being accessed by buying a "P900"...

Soon to be available (Oct?) Nokia 6600 is MIDP 2.0 and it is supposed to
support many of the useful JSRs in its J2ME implementation but CAVEAT EMPTOR
in red and double underlined with these devices. I believe the P800 had many
features pulled or half-built as the APIs and even some documentation
existed but at the last minute it did not hold up. -ve's in 6600 is no touch
screen/virt kb , being v useful for IM!
