This is exactly the same crash I described a couple of days back over on 
jadmin.  If you look at stream.c there is a call to abort() immediately 
after the printf() that generates the Parse error message.

I know of at least one person who has just commented out that abort() 
call and has been running steadily since.  I'm still not sure if this is 
the right solution (had a bit of a discussion with the msn-t maintainer, 
but he said he wasn't too familiar with that part of the code).

Incidentally, these messages are "event notifications" or "alerts" as 
MSN calls them.  Users can turn them on or off with the MSN client.
