[JDEV] Jabber and spam?

Why are we limited to only these solutions? Since the system is
(somewhat) extensible, we have more options available to us than even
those for email. For years now I've wanted to play around with
implementing some form of trust metric
(http://www.advogato.org/trust-metric.html) in Jabber. I think that
with Jabber we can get away with a brand new solution to the spam
problem which does not feel "tacked on" like all the ones you list.
