Thanks for the message Peter.

You might be as glad to hear, as I was, of the fact a scholar and a 
gentleman by the name Frank provided me with the goods. A fully 
compatible working version of the mu-conference dll compiled under 
cygwin for the win32 Jabber distribution. It works a treat !
