[JDEV] Building jabberd2 on Linux

I have tried a couple of time to compile the new jabberd. I have a Mandrake 
9.0 install with pretty much everything installed. However, all my attempts 
have resulted in frustration in trying to get the dependencies straight.

Can anyone describe a successful recipe for getting the compilation to work? 
by listing which versions of kerberos/gssapi/db/sasl etc will build a working 
configuration?
