But as ive just said in my previous email I dont think it actually gets 
a stream error, and IMO clients should only auto-reconnect in the case 
of a network problem, and as ive said in my previous email that means 
it wouldn't have received a </stream:stream> which it would have got 
when the server initiates a disconnection caused at the moment I think 
only by another session logging in, and in that case clients should not 
be auto-reconnecting if they are at the moment.

So to sum up this is a bug that needs to be fixed in any clients that 
exhibit it.
