[JDEV] JAIN Instant Messaging

The Java Community Process seems to have a team that is working on a
protocol-agnostic API for instant messaging. They seem to have SIMPLE
bindings but nothing else. Does anyone on the list know about this
initiative? Why don't they support XMPP yet? :)
