[JDEV] Determining nicknames...?

I can't speak for ICQ, but in MSN, it's normal to be presented with
someone's nickname only, and I've found that people coming from MSN
consider this a feature, which they miss (perhaps temporarily).  It may
be that msn-t has deliberately abused the Jabber protocol to comply with
MSN conventions.

Of course, that's not to say I'm defending the decision :)
