Hi,
As announced earlier this year, we now have jabber-based software
available that can be used for handling and distributing the
information about a user's location. It consists of extensions to
the 1.4.2 jabber server, a Pocket PC client application and a java
client library (based on javajabberc 0.0.19). The software as well
as some documentation can be found at http://plim.telin.nl/ .
The extended server handles <location> elements at the same level as
the common data types <message>, <presence>, and <iq>; i.e. <location>
is defined as a common data type itself and is not part of <presence>.
Subscription to location information is completely independent from
subscription to presence information. In the current implementation,
we use an infrastructure of Bluetooth access points to determine a
user's indoor location.
