I've got it running by using binaries built on FreeBSD
2.6-STABLE, which uses gcc 2.95.3. I now run FreeBSD 2.7, which
uses gcc 2.95.4. Hard to believe gcc is this unstable (and even
more so in the 3.x versions) after a decade of development.
