Does anybody notice the same behaviour at his systems, that if jabberd 
is started with the perl script it works file ... but if I quit the perl 
script the router keeps running and starts eating memory.

(As I can see in my logfile, I also had this problem with alpha 2 - it 
got killed by the kernel when no memory was left over.)
