[JDEV] A Jabber 'client deamon'

If it's any use, I'd like to note that I've been working on just that
for the past few months, as part of a proxy Jabber server. The original
purpose of my proxy server wasn't to allow easy access to Jabber from
external programs, but rather to provide the capability for Jabber
users to distribute capabilities among concurrently running clients -
something the current Jabber protocol provides no support for. However,
the interface I eventually developed is quite well-suited for use by
simple shell scripts, and I intend to provide a few simple command-line
programs in the server distribution in order to showcase the usefulness
of the proxy server's interface.

BTW - I'm really not in existance ATM; I'm on vacation until the middle
of next week. (Let's hope some suicide bomber doesn't kill me before
then ... LOL. . .)
