[JDEV] compiling jabber server on Mac OS X

Talked to Jer at JabberCon and he said he had (or by now has) checked in
changes to the CVS version that gives you a clean compile on OS X. I
started working on testing this out, but wound up with a problem compiling
gcc (which I believe you need to compile Jabberd) and haven't gotten back to
it due to other more pressing needs.
So if you want to risk a CVS version, it will be a fix rather than a
work-around for OS X (I think), but if you want a workaround on a stable
version of Jabber, check out the below (I did in the past get the below
compiled and running on OS X).
