[JDEV] IRC transport not connecting

Hi,
I'm using the newest irc-transport and the patched Gabber.

When connecting to an IRC server like this:

Group Chat -> Select IRC, enter IRC server name, nick, and channel.

The Group Chat window comes up, but there is no output in 'jabberd -D' as
if nothing was requested.

It's only when I try typing something for the chat that I get:

client.c:202 Writing packet to MIO: <message to='baloney at localhost/Gabber' type='error' from='#plug%upcm.net at irc.localhost'><body>hi</body><error code='502'>Server Connect Failed</error></message>

What is happening in the connection?  Thanks.
