[JDEV] Compatibility testing (was: Jabber, the Name)

We'll see how our test suite goes and when there's a doc that actually DOES
reflect ALL of the protocol ACCURATELY (big grin here) we look at adding
compatibility checking.

I think plenty of work needs to be done before we are ready for that :)
