[JDEV] embedded jabber

Peter,
I believe the question was about an embedded jabber SERVER
not a client (unless Randy mis-typed). But his comments
about statically linking in transports makes me believe he
meant server.
I'm not sure that I've seen anyone here mention doing any
embedded server work.

The folks at PocketLinux had success in porting Jabber to
their platform
(see http://www.pocketlinux.com/ for info) and I know there
was at least
one Jabber client under development for PalmOS and one for
WinCE
(http://jabber.org/?oid=288), but I'm not sure about other
platforms. I
notice that there will be a session on "Jabber & Embedded
Devices" at
JabberCon 2001 (http://www.jabbercon.com/), maybe some good
initiatives
will come out of that. :)

Would it still be
