Jabber.com recently upgraded their public server to "Jabber Commercial
Server 2.0" (the industrial-strength server they've developed) and there
were a few issues with the environment on the destination machine, I
believe, so they turned off server-to-server communications for a while.
When did you do this testing? This update happened over the weekend and
they've been mopping up today.

No on both counts. I've recently updated the 1.2 white paper to address
1.4 and am now moving on to a Jabber Commercial Server 2.0 white paper.
