Gabber, WinJab, and any other clients supporting PGP/GPG (I think Jarl
CVS does as well) do so by making use of the PGP or GPG infrastructure
on your computer. I've been meaning to write a short article/howto about
PKI support in Jabber clients, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Basically
you need to get GPG running (in the case of Gabber), then generate your
own key. Once you have your key, you can set up Gabber's preferences
(Gabber -> Preferences -> Encryption) to use your key for communication
with others. Encrypted communications use the jabber:x:signed (for
presence) and jabber:x:encrypted (for messages) namespaces. These are
supported by the server but the real work here happens client-side.
