Well, one reason I could see might be the same why "passwd" requires 
you to enter the old password: to prevent people to change your 
password while you are AFK for a minute. Granted, if you do so, you 
shoul always lock your screen if you are in a potentially hotile 
enviroment. Might be a good idea anyway...


I can live without it, too, though ;)
