[JDEV] platforms for jabber server

Jabber 1.4 definitely builds on RH 7.0.  That's
what we have on our Jabber.com test machine.

If you're evaluating the Jabber technology in
general, I would highly recommend that you set
up a test machine of your own with your own
server, rather than using anyone else's server.

I've tried most of them and I prefer JabberIM.
It's the easiest to use, most stable, and best
looking.  (note, I work for the company that
produces that client, so I might be biased)

None that I've seen.  There is a project with
the Open Source Development Lab to gather some
independent statistics on the open source
