If you're really new to the jdev mailing list (ie, past 3 hours) please
check the archives of the mailing list (I believe its on the web site
somewhere) as I and many others have described numerous scenarios, both
client and server, that could make use of a scripting language
implementation.

Thanks,
MikeE

I would suggest that Jabber take one of two approaches:

    1. (the easiest) "adopt" an official language. This should be an
existing, open-source, and preferably widely used language such as
Python (my vote) or Perl (if we want to scare people away Jabber
    :)

well, first thing, i am new to jabber, so what exactly do you mean by
'scripting language'? i mean, what would this scripting language be
used for, and why have one?
