[JDEV] <error type='...'> vs. <error code='...'>

What is the correct attribute of a <error> tag used to identify the
error code?  The protocol documents give it as `type', but many of the
examples use `code' instead.  The current servers also seem to use
`code'.  Should a client support both attributes?
