I've just read the dotGNU stuff and it seems like they're trying to redefine URI's.
They have username at server:dotGnu service:[Tokens]
URI's have service://[username:password@]server/[path and/or tokens]
Anyone know why there trying to re-invent the circular motion device?

sure, right now i think the questions are about resource location and
addressing. meaning how jabber names it's resources (
[user@]<jabber.domain>[/resource] ).
one of the 'leaders' of the DotGNU has published his ideas on how he
thinks DotGNU should do adressing, at http://www.dotgnu.org/spec/rls.htm
. maybe some people could take a look at it, and write up something
explaining how jabber can do everything he lays out there, nad maybe
more. i'll be happy to forward it to them.
