[JDEV] email and jabber

I would like to integrate e-mail with the jabber client such that if an
e-mail is sent to a jabber user of that server (e.g., user at jabberserver.com)
then it would pop up on their jabber client as a message.

I see this important in the customer support implementation. (not all
customers WANT to install a jabber client. This way they can resort to
e-mail instead)

Is there a solution already for this? If so, what is the implementation?
