Funny, I tried the ICQ transport and got similar output. Using Gabber,
though I doubt the client makes much difference. And the Debian packages
of server 1.2.

If I'm attempting to learn about Jabber and run a server is going with
1.2 a bad idea? 1.0 won't compile due to conflicts been the OpenSSL and
libxode header files and I understand 1.4 doesn't do ICQ yet. As most of
the people I chat to do ICQ lack of this would be a problem.

I get the feeling this might not be the right place to ask, but I'm not
sure where is.
