mmm, I don't have this function in my Gabber ...
I just have 'Setup other IM systems' which is used to register to a
transport (with an iq query of 'register:set' type). Then, if you
successfully registered to the transport, it will send you a <presence
type=subscribe from='myaim/registered?name=...'> message to subscribe to
your presence information.

If you replied to the presence message sent by the transport, you will
just need to log into jabber who will send presence information to the
transport (you replied to the susbscribe message).
Else, you can do it manually with a message like that :
<presence type='available' to='myaim/registered?name=...'/>

yes, that seems like a bug ... the transport should at least notice you
that you went offline ...
