[JDEV] Windows clients giving update errors?

Thanks -- I know I was suspicious of the client -- I figured that when I had a free hour
or two (very rare) I would debug the client to confirm -- It would be nice to have a
switch to disable that function or....... better yet have it point to where I want it to
point to check for updates in our own repository at the office.

I will fire off a request to Peter Millard on this --
