I'm not familiar with the yahoo transport in jabber - but the yahoo library
it uses is mine. It should be able to do HTTP proxy based connections,
however, there has been some discussion on the libyahoo/gtkyahoo devel lists
indicating that there may be problems with the http/http-proxy
implementation in the libyahoo code. (Is jabber using libyahoo or yahoolib?
If the latter, y'all should probably upgrade.)

for details.. I am not sure if this works.. if it does, or if you get it to
work, please let me know.. I know there are other people who would like this
functionality as well, and I don't have a socks server to play with.
Thanks Keith. But I use a http proxy (an Apache 1.3.6 server on port 80) to
connect to the net. Is there a similar flag for a http proxy? I can try it
out
and let you know.
BTW, I'm pretty new to Linux world. Does compiling yahoo-transport with the
required flag involve adding it to CFLAGS entry in Makefile.am?
Thanks again.
