[JDEV] Presence probes and AIM transport

Right, the initial log-on state for Jabber is 'unavailable', which means you
will only receive messages if they are sent directly to you, you will never
receive offline (pending) messages and won't see other user's presences.

This also is useful if you want to log in and out for a specialized purpose, say
a servlet to do account administration.
