[JDEV] Jabber behind a firewall

Is it possible to run Jabber behind a firewall?
One of the first things it does is establish a connection with
etherx.jabber.org.
This connection fails to pass through the firewall and jserver exits because
it cannot connect to etherx.jabber.org.
