[JDEV] java client

If the applet is run in an applet viewer it can connect to any jabber
server. If the applet is running in a browser the applet must connect to
it's host machine jabber server. This is due to browser applet security
(not specific to the JabberApplet).

Does JabberApplet require JServer to be running on the same machine or can
you connect to any jabber server?

Go to https://sourceforge.net/projects/jabberapplet/
<https://sourceforge.net/projects/jabberapplet/> for the jar file
http://jabberapplet.sourceforge.net/ <http://jabberapplet.sourceforge.net/>
for an explanation (not up to date) of what it does and a demo of the applet
that's on java.jabber.org. In general it does everything needed for basic
Jabber IM except registration. A new version will be available soon.

We're in the process of cleaning up the packages so its easier to create
different looks/addons. When cleanup is completed the code will be
available. In addition groupchat is in the works. Current size (without
groupchat) =52k.

Does anyone have a (semi) functional jabber applet available?
