yes, irc-jabber is sortof in a state of flux right now.. I was working on it late last night as well, it's being set up to use the CVS version of jabberd (the 1.3 dev version) -- since it needs MIO. if there are still references to etherx, that might be my fault..
I've tagged a previous version of irc-jabber, as PRE_1_3, but I have a feeling it will only work with the 1.1.3 version of jabberd.. (an older dev version), before we added the <route/> tags... which means that it will not work right...
so.. for right now, if you want it to work, you will need to update your jabberd to the latest CVS version, there is nothing in the misc folder.. it shouldn't be including etherx.h, i beleive etherx_debug_flag is defined in jabberd.h, but i might be mistaken...
