You poor NT server user :-), if you had Novell Netware server(s) with
ZEN (basic version is a free download) you could use Snapshot to grab
all the local machine changes, use that to create a NAL object and
just set it to force run. Simple. We do this sort of thing at work
all the time, completly automated on-demand installs of things
ranging in complexity from justing running a program from the server
to things like MS Office, Publisher etc with their thousands of
registery changes and hundreds of files that they don't put where you
told it to install to. Of course I work at a school so using the
computers has to be made as simple as possible, teachers generally
aren't that good with technology :-). Oh we also have well over 100
computers (probably around 200 by next year, with a school roll of
about 800 students) with only 3 IT techs, none completly full time so
ZEN is a god send for us.
Of course this doesn't have much to do with Jabber, but oh well, it
did sort of originally.
