[JDEV] can't see (or chat with) users??

Glancing over the info makes me think it is because your <name> tag in your
config is not foo.lucent.com.  So it's trying to be looked up and connected
to to send the message.  I could be wrong because I just glanced at the
setup, but it's a place to start.  I'll look more later.
