Add /usr/local/lib to your /etc/ld.so.conf and then run "/sbin/ldconfig -v".
Alternatively, add /usr/local/lib to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment
variable.

Subject: [JDEV] Setup of Jabber Server

Hello:

Could someone help out a newcomer to the Jabber/Linux environment? I am
trying to setup a Jabber Server for experimentation on RedHat Linux 6.2.

I have the sources set up in their respective subdirectories /jab/pth-1.3.5,
/jab/adns-0.8, /jab/libxode-1.0, /jab/libjabber-1.0, /jab/libetherx-1.0 and
/jab/jabber-transport-1.0. I installed all libraries after doing
./configure, make, make install and ldconfig from the root of each
subdirectory.

Everything seems to be fine until I run "jserver &". The system reports:
jserver: error in loading shared libraries: libjabber.so.1
: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory
though the file can be found in /usr/local/lib.

What have I done wrong?? Thank you.

Regards

YsK
