Hello,
I have gotten a jabber server up and running fairly quickly and it
seems to work well, but I am looking to add several transports
including aim, icq, and yahoo. I am missing something very basic,
but I can not seem to find any documentation about it. I have gotten
the transport code, uncompress it, and go to run ./configure, but
there is no such file. It appears that I need to put the transport
as a subdirectory of something else that already has a ./configure,
but I am not certain where.
I took a look at the groupchat-transport and the instructions are:
INSTALLATION
- ------------
1) Unpack the system
tar -zxvf groupchat-transport-x.x.x.tar.gz
2) Build the system
./configure && make && make install
3) Edit the groupchat.xml and set the server name to what you would
like it to be.
4) Decide to either use the dso or socket version to connect to
etherx
dso:
- Edit your etherxd.xml and add:
<dso init='gc_init'>/path/to/your/gc_trans.so</dso>
socket:
- Run the groupchat program to get the command line
Again, when I unpack the groupchat-transport, there is no
./configure. I have seen this question asked frequently on the
mailing list, but I have not found any answers on the mailing list.
Thanks for your help!
Sean
