[JDEV] Newbie questions

I have not tested it, but I do know that you must get it from CVS.
The gz file on the download site does not build.  Let me rephrase:
I was not smart enough to build the distro in the gz file, but had no
trouble getting the CVS module to build.

I have no idea how to beam messages at the thing, though.
