[JDEV] instant communication between jabber servers?

Hi, everyone
    
    I was deeply impressed by the Jabber project. I think that it is really a great work.
The idea is so cool: change email systems into instant message systems.

    But I was puzzled by one thing: how to guarantee the realtime communication
among the distributed server systems. As we know, email systems can not reach it.
I think that the key difference with email is: just the Instant.

    Could someone explain it.
