I'm quite interested in Jabber benchmarks; the Volano chat
benchmark has been a good one for Java, and I'd like to
see a similar one for C++.
Have you resolved your problems?  Can you post source and/or results?

and its results (http://www.kegel.com/dkftpbench/results.html)
might be of some small interest to you for comparison.
